5 new ways to style your tights this Autumn/Winter 2020

It's official - we are now in Autumn! Leaves are falling, the evenings are turning cooler and we are starting to think about dusting off our Autumn/Winter wardrobe and that can only mean one thing - tights season is upon us - hurrah!

We have been really busy in-store since our New Autumn Arrivals have started hitting the rails. You have been loving the versatility of our beautiful blouses and thin knits to freshen up your wardrobe. And might I add that Emma and I have been admiring the gorgeous masks you have been so kindly sporting to keep each other safe. There are some really fun prints around, I love how expressive people are being with them. Thank you again for your continued support it is very much appreciated.

Anyway, back to the business of tights! It's time to dig deep down into your underwear draw and dust those versatile babies off. If you're anything like me, you will likely need to bin a few pairs after enthusiastically throwing a pair on only to find they have a massive ladder in from last year! Why I put them back into my drawer I don't know.

If you are looking for a fresh take on how to style your tights for this season then look no further! Inspired by some of our favourite Autumn/Winter 20/21 catwalk looks - these are tights but not as you know them - no Nora Batty in sight!

CHECKMATE - PATTERNED TIGHTS

The biggest pattern to dominate the runway this Autumn/Winter has been check prints. Plaid and tartan are making a come back in a big way!

DARE TO BARE - SHEER TIGHTS

If you like to show a bit of leg but can't stand to go bare in the cooler months, then sheer tights are your friend. Often paired with a little black dress and heels - a classic combo, Celine inspired us to style our sheer tights for a daytime look. An outfit that we are much more likely to be able to wear at the moment!

Seen below paired with an on-trend tartan skirt, a white blouse and an Autunm/Winter staple - the shoe boot. The navy tights are a fresh twist from the black.

BE BOLD - GO RED

Red is having a a bit of a moment and we're loving it! Contrary to popular belief red looks great on all skin tones, it's just a matter of finding the right shade.

The catwalk saw designers embracing the colour from head to toe! Not a look for everyone, however it is a nifty way to elongate your legs.

Any trend that combines style with cosiness is a winner in our book! To add an extra layer for colder winter days, we will be wearing tights with our knit dress and boots.

These Opaque Magicwear tights from Marks and Spencer have been a favourite of mine for years! They stay up really well and provide extra support for that streamline look.
